Okay, I've had my Edge since January, and have had four shutdowns. The first one was the weekend I installed it, then recently, like the last month or so, three more. But only when it's raining. Seems a little wierd to me. The last two I was going 60-65 mph, let off the accelerator a bit, and felt a "shudder". It felt like the tranny was shifting hard, but it wasn't shifting up or down. I don't think it has anything to do with the tranny, that's just what it feels like. That's how I know it's about to shut down within the next five minutes or so. Sure enough, on the highway, in the rain, I'm turning the key off, shifting into neutral, and restarting it. By this time I'm coasting down to about 40-45 mph, obviously w/o power steering, brakes, etc.

My questions would be has anybody else been able to "predict" a shutdown before, and is it bad for the motor/tranny to shift into drive from neutral doing 40+ mph.

I'm calling edge soon to see what they can do...

On my Edge I used to have before I sent it back I never had a warning in anyway. It just shut down, did it more as I let off the throttle but did do it twice under a load.

I remember hearing something a while back about someone who cleaned their contacts and never had a prob since??

I dont think it would be bad to drop it back in drive but I surely wouldnt be revving the motor or nailing the gas as soon as you dropped it back in gear. When mine has shutdown I restart and drop it back into gear and give it a couple seconds for safety.

I just added the Edge Juice with Attitude today and on my way home around 60, it shut down, I wasn't very happy. Did anybody notice any difference in engine noise? Kinda sounds like an exhaust leak, to relate, it sounds almost like a 7.3L Powerstroke. For being the first day, I am very disappointed. Any input?? Thanks

I never noticed any change in engine sound at all when I had one. All I can say is call them and hopefully send it back. When I had mine it took 3 units before it was right.

I've never heard different engine noise with a programmer, just more turbo noise with the intake an exhaust upgrades. I never get tired of that whine lol.

I'll try cleaning my contacts, is rubbing alcohol okay, or should I try something else?

My first box started doing it when we had either really cold weather in the winter or was really hot in the summer. Finally it just died, got ahold of edge and they had me send it in and they replaced it with a new one.

my edge kept stalling out my truck,01 dmax and wouldnt let it restart.I called edge,they said that since it was manufactured in 04 it is worn out.They offered me a new one at half price.I said that is bs,I figured a product that cost almost $1000 should last longer than 4 years.They didnt see it that way.
