 I have a K&N filter and when i clean it and oil it, it tends to clog the mass air flow sensor which isent cheap (last year i payed $350 for a new one). So i decided to let it dry 2 days ago and the fillter is still as oily as if i just oiled it. Any advice? I dont want to put it back on while its still wet but i might not have a choice soon. Thanks

Just clean the sensor with some CRC MAF cleaner. You can get it at Orielly's. That oil won't dry, and don't run it without any oil in it. Maybe you are over applying the oil and thats why it's crudding up so bad on the sensor.

Buy a Amsoil Ea replacement for what you are installing! I have and Ea filter in mine, and it works great.

Thats what I did. When I bought mine they had just re-oiled the K&N, I took it out and put the stock one back in. Just got around to cleaning the MAF sensor(4months later  ) But it seems to run better now that the MAF is clean.

I have had a kn on every vehicle i have ever owned, and i have never had any amount of oil any where near the maf or the inlet tube....you are over oiling it .....only enough oil to change it back to red, oil the side that goes in the box only, you should get 4-5 cleanings out of one kit on a drop in filter

I got some info from this site a while ago, I think it was a report, said the stock filter is best for the truck and the K&N is a POS.

That seems to be the consensus on here!

here's what you need to do. It's a two man job though. First, find someone with a good arm. Next find a shotgun. 20 gauge, 12 gauge it doesn't matter, just make sure it's loaded. Have the second person chuck that K&N as hard and high as he can on you're signal, then aim, track, and pump a load of buckshot through it and walk away. When you get back to the truck, put in a stock air filter, or an Amsoil Ea filter (part # EaA123). After this step is completed, crack open 2 beers, one for each of you, then nod and grunt in approval of how cool it was to shot something, fix something, and drink beer.

Back in 2003 / 2004 extensive testing of all air filters for the duramax was done on another site to find the best all round filter that gave the greatest air flow, the the greatest reduction in particals removal, and finally which filter removed the smallest particals.

in every case GMs OEM filter, excelled beating the other filters hands down.

good luck drive safe

so where is the best place to buy a amsoil filter?

You can go to the Amsoil website and order one up, or call them and order over the phone as well. If you would like any more info on this, PM me, I'm a dealer.
