I was going to buy one, but did a search on here and found that the stock one is better for these trucks. The oil from the filter coats the MAS and makes the truck not run right.

That is actually false information. K&N has done extensive testing to see if air filter oil contaminates MAF sensors and all the tests they have conducted proved that even after taking a MAF sensor and submerging it in a bucket of oil the sensor still worked.

Yes the stock airbox is very efficient but the use of an aftermarket intake does improve effiency and performance.

Then there are a lot of people on here that are having a issue with a non-issue. Don't get me wrong, I love K&N filters and run them in every vehical I own, including my quad. But after reading all the stuff on here about them I decided against an oiled filter.

Do a search on here for K&N and you will see most people don't like them and the problem goes away for a little bit after cleaning the MAS.

Why is the guy getting rid of it?

I don't think I gained any performance after I put mine on. The turbo only requires so much air, and the factory gives it plenty. I bought mine a while ago, not doing any research before I bought it, thinking it was bolt-on power. You have to clean it pretty often, a lot of dust and debres gets on it because it's in the open. Kinda a waste of 350 of my bucks, but at least I can hear my turbo now:D. But if you still want it, 125 is a good price as long as it's all in good shape.

Dry Flow = No Flow

They have to make dry filters really tight so they can filter down to a decent micron number that alot of them sacrifice flow.

Contact K&N and ask them for a copy of their educational CD "oiled and confused". That will show their findings in detail.

Hey I put one on mine and the very next day I discovered my used DMax had a tranny limp.
I am sure the reported extra 30 HP was not the cause, more likely my exhuberance at feeling the hopeful power finally revealed the issue!
If you are cool w/ cleaning it, $115 is a great price, I looked and looked when I bought mine and the best I saw used was $175.
good luck either way

The guy that was on here talking about the reseach. There was a artical in one of my new diesel mag. with pics and everything for k&N showing that this is not true.

They have even payed private company's to look at there finding to back up there resualts at K&N.

K&N DOES NOTHING TO THE MAF SENSOR
