A few weeks ago, my stock remote lock/unlock began not to work. Along with this, my horn also quit working. I checked the horn fuse, it was burnt up, so I put a new fuse in and now the horn works and the remote lock works, but not the remote unlock. Any thoughts? Is there another fuse burnt up or is something shorted out you think? Thanks in advance.

Had a problem with my remote entry system on mine. I noticed that nothing electrical worked on the p/s door. Ended up having the door module replaced and then all was fine. Check you p/s and see if you have lost any funtionality (window, power lock, lights)

Just noticed you have an 03. Anyone know if the 03s remote system is in the same place as the 07 classic?

everything electrically works fine...windows, locks, mirrors, etc...only the stupid unlock on the remote won't work...havent checked the panic button yet...(dont need it tho, thats what the 9mm is for):D

Well, thinking there must be a short somewhere...Horn quit again today, assuming the fuse burnt up again so now the remote lock doesnt work either...Anyone had any problems with their horn shorting out or remote entry shorting?

I am assuming you mean in the remote...and no, not yet...I wasn't sure how to open the remote up for starters, and also, I dont know how a low battery would be blowing my horn fuse? Going to try to reprogram the remotes and put a new fuse in shortly, will let you know what I find. Thanks.

Same problem just started on my 05 but I haven't lost anything other than the 'unlock' function.

Was intermittent for awhile but I get nothing now.

Had it checked by my dealer, they have a device that checks signal output.
It was already at the dealership getting the steering column issue fixed and the service guy just starts pressing buttons to check for function without considering the poor tech that was under the hood when the panic sounded! :rotflmao:

Ok, heres the verdict...

Intro:
Transmitter 1: Been in the truck since the day it was bought.

Transmitter 2: Been sitting in the closet since the day it was bought.

Currently:
Transmitter 2: Reprogrammed the transmitter as transmitter 1 and it works in the truck since then.

Transmitter 1: Not programmed on the truck,sitting in the toolbox as a spare key with a suspected dead battery...(I am too lazy to get a new battery for it so far)

What about the blown fuse you had?

Glad yours is working now, mines still doesn't unlock with the remote.
Tried to reprogram it, swapped batteries but still nadda.

I had to replace the fuse for the horn twice but since last change, it hasnt burnt out with it being reprogrammed...

My findings were that the tool that the dealer uses to test these remotes is junk. :thumbsdow

I dropped mine the other day and guess what, it started working again.

Stopped once and I rapped it on my knucke and it was back working.
Loose something inside apparently.

Same thing just started happening to my wife's 03 Yukon. Neither FOB works for anything and nothing on the p/s door works, window/lock/mirror/heat. Dealer said it was the door module and wanted $450 to replace it. Anyone know the part # or if I get one, can I replace it myself or does it need to be programed or a reflash? ie. can I just get one and plug & play?

I just had one go through the washing machine and drier. Amazing, it still works.
