I recently put new tail lights on my small ATV trailer, I also replaced the wiring harness, all the way up to the hitch. The problem that Iam having is that the right turn signal/ brake light is not working. Here is the really weird thing...my father inlaw brought his HD over to use the trailer, and the turn signal/brake light worked fine on his truck! Do I have a fuse problem? A ground problem? Or what? It worked fine with the old lights/wiring harness, I can't imagine what has changed on the truck! I do have a brake controller hooked up in my truck to control my 5er, but that is the only thing I have done brake wise to the truck.

Thanks,
Russ

You have a blown fuse. Probably blown due to a short in the old wiring harness. Look in your owners manual and you should be able to figure it out easily.

This might be a long shot but here goes......

Are you using the factory trailer wiring plug with a 7 to 6 pin adapter? If so, there are 2 wiring standards for the 6 pin side which will switch 2 of the wires internally in the adapter. I forget the specifics but I ran into this on a buddies truck/trailer. Lights and brakes worked fine using my adapter but using the one he purchased at Wally world there were some problems. After realizing the problem was in the adapter, we took the adapter apart and found that two of the wires had screw terminals so they could be swapped if need be while all the others were permanently fastened. Swapped the 2 wires and all was well. This may not be your problem but it is worth storing this info away for future use.:)
