talked to my dealer today over the phone and asked him what he would sell me a brand new 2008 ltz 4x4 crew cab for without the navigation system and dvd system and he quoted me 40,600. i am thinking that is a pretty good deal (also have about a thousand bucks on the gm card available too). then i asked him if i took out all the original exhaust (doc and dpf) would he still warranty it. i told me if i go through him, he would (he is the general manager). so i am thinking this is a pretty good deal. i have a 2005 lly that i have not had a bit of problem out of - only has 29,500 miles on it. the lmm out to be a pulling machine with a 50 hp tune or so.

General Managers tend to not stay in the same place very long. Think that he'll be there in two years when you are due for an inspection?

i don't have to have any inspections, and yes he will be there. it is a small dealership, and he is the owners son in law. he's been there for about 8 years now.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I bet if you press him he'll go down. With sky high fuel prices and a deperssed economy new car sales are hurting. Very few are buying big diesel gas hogs and the dealers are well aware of this, he'll go down.
If your dealers g.m said that he will warranty the truck if you delete the dpf and add a tuner then make sure you put it in writing and have him sign it. That becomes a legal contract, now you have leverage if there is a problem. I asked my service manager the same question and he said he would cover my truck with a tuner, dpf delete, and intake. I asked him if we could put that in writing and he refused. So my truck will stay stock until the warranty expires. Good luck;)

rpowell56, is that price a straight out buy price (no trade)? If so you need to buy it but if its on a trade he's probably not giving you what your truck is worth. PM me and let me know what dealler it is or what area he's in. southeast? I know alot of deallers and sons

That sounds like a great deal to me. considering thats only 2k more than I paid for my tuck and its no LTZ package. Also I thaink he is bsing you about the dpf on the warranty. My dealer told me if I mess with mine I could kiss my warranty goodbye.
