Chevrolet 3500 SRW Heavy Duty Power Package = $6500
Chevrolet 2500HD = $7900????

I wonder why?

I wonder if there are upgrades on the 2500HD that are included standard on the 3500?

Perhaps the heavier front suspension for the diesel motor comes with the 3500?

Better be a LOT of stuff for $1400.

Very odd. My guess is it has more to do with the pricing on Ford and Dodge 3500SRW's with the diesel.

What happens when you price out an identically equipped 2500HD against a 3500? Minus the aluminum wheels of course.

One other thought, perhaps they have promotions on the 2500HD and not the 3500? Artificial retail value to give the illusion of a sale. You know, that kind of thing that makes your wife say, I HAVE to buy it, its on sale! ):h Actually dear, they doubled the retail and knocked of 40% but now you have to have it. :confuzeld

For 2005, it seems the 3500SRW is $750 more than the 2500HD. It was less than the 2500HD in 2004.5. This is with the HDPP option on both.

We are looking at a second truck, but to me the 3500SRW is not worth $750 extra.

Unless there is something different about the 2005??

Sometimes there are physical reasons for price differences, sometimes not. The 3500 may come with certain items that must be added to the 2500 for the diesel. Some of that pricing is arrived at very scientifically. However, once an item becomes "standard", it's cost usually goes down. Then there is supply and demand... or pricing based on popularity. Truck pricing in general is priced this way... Why that much? Because we can!
