Trucks at the dealer getting the rear pinion seal replaced today. I was going to do the exhaust after I get it back. When I pulled the Evolution it said i had around 35 grams of soot, do I need to wait and get a regen in before pulling the DPF or can I pull it when I get it back and worry about the regen when I put the stock exhaust back on.

Update, was only assembly grease coming out so no leak. Going to start on the exhaust now so i hope it will be ok with not having a fresh regen, cheers

Update x2 Just got back from around town driving and one short run on the freeway and the DiC says 16.9 when I fill up again I will get a better reading of the MPG. Quad on +50 and 5" exhaust. almost 3 mpg better than before with the DPF. I am a happy camper :)
Thanks again Nate :)

Not to burst your bubble, but your DIC will not be as accurate due to the tuning. Only true calc. is hand calc. :D Chris

What he said, x2.
Using Quad's +70, my economy readings are inflated by about ten percent.
For example, after a pure freeway run with DIC reading of 20, a paper calc shows 18 MPG.
By the same token, the DIC might show Gals. Used at 14, actual fuel pumped is 15.5 gallons.

I will find out this weekend how good it is, taking a trip to Idaho to see my dads new house, should be a good test to see what kind of MPG I am getting.

How do you like the 5" exhaust. I can't decide which 5" or 4". My concern is at idle as how much louder over stock. And about how much louder when light throttle acceleration. Don't care about sound when getting on it. Just have concern about neighbors on those cold morning warm ups. All videos seen are just getting on it. No comparison recordings to before and after.

go with the 5", i have the 5"mbrp on my truck. At idle to me doesnt sound much louder than stock other than the whistle from the turbo. It really screams when you stomp it though and i love it. At highway speeds 65-75 i have absolutely no drone

Is this the Aluminum 5" kit?
Wouldn't have the part numbers for all required pieces would you?
Did you leave the downpipe ( I think that is what it is referred to as ) from the turbo down to where the front pipe connects in place or is it 5" all the way to the turbo. Just wonder how much trouble to get that downpipe out to a 5".
Thanks for the info there HaasLMM

I can't see anyone putting a 5" down pipe in. It won't fit unless you move the fire wall of the truck or cut it out and build some sheet metal it put back in. The only weigh I see this happening is on a full blown race truck.

Back from my Idaho trip and was very happy. Filled up before I left and hand calculated was 15.81 around town, that's also with a heavy foot as I love the sound of the new exhaust. Filled up after I got back and was at 18.91 a little lower but I figured 80+ mph didn't help much. Also noticed the DIC read 18.6 when I filled up, it was within .3 on both fillups that's on the +50 tune.

After checking mine, the DIC is about .2-.3 off of my hand calc. at both my 70 and 50 hp settings. Glad to hear your getting some pretty good mpg's. Chris
