Lately I've been thinking of getting the tranny upgraded to L3 or L4. Want to be able to drive around with the J/A on 5 all the time. Anybody know of a reputable shop in Norcal who can do the install and R/R.

Thanks in advance
Rich.

IMO I think you should make the drive to LA and see Mike L., I know that is what I'll be doing when I have enough nickels saved to do my Ally. :grd:

Been there, done that, at Mike L's.

Go for the drive, it will be worth it.

Where is "Mike L"?
What is a Mike L?
Anyone have contact info for a Mike L?
Now I'm intrigued

So I presume upgrading a tranny takes more than a day. What are you guys doing - renting a hotel room and camping out while they rework your tranny? You take a cab from the shop to the hotel room?

Mike is located in Inglewood, CA. 310-674-4400.

He has owned his own tranny shop for too many years, and is getting into the Allison big time. And he is a respected (???) member of this site.

He is honest, trustworthy, reasonable (??), and will do the job right.

If you PM or call him he can answer all the questions. Unfortunately, he will talk your leg off.

Good luck.

Lyle

If you weren't so big I'd wup you. :D

My shop is at LAX(hotel heaven). Ally mods require 2 days max; I have done them in a day but like to do the break-in and TAP reset at the shop. Need 1 week lead time. Phone at shop listed in sig. below. Cell # 310 918 9678.
thanks, mike

I drove 24 hours round trip to swap my Allison for a Suncoast V from Mike L. Would I do it again? YES! Except he didn't wear a dress for me, must have been too cold that day):h
