www.chromewheel.com (http://www.chromewheel.com) has 19.5 rims with many pics of the big wheels on trucks.A buddy of mine has them on his '01 dually and they reall changed the way the truck looks for the better.

I bought my 19.5's from Chromewheel. I bought the adapters from Arrowcraft. Chromewheel sells the kit though.

pro, there are a couple of lowered dodges running around tx that are running them and towing 40' goose necks, a guy in FL with a cig has them on his dodge crew cab as well with no trouble, just make sure to check the trq on the adapters after you run them a little while. Also the were quite a few of them on the trucks at the offshore races as well towing the boats.

Have been running the Rickson 19.5's for the last year, I will never go back to towing with the stock tires and wheels, I feel so much safer pulling my 14,000lb trailer.
5,000 towing miles and the tires show little wear. No adapters. Easy to switch back in the winter.

Happy Trails:cool2: I was thinking of going with the 19.5" Rickson's, but was worried about clearance issues. I know they(Rickson) recommend 225's for GM setups but do the 225's fill the wheel well? Did you have to tie the fender skirts back or trim the air dam, and are you running any sort of a lift kit with these. I know some have gone with 245's but usually they are using a 2" lift to prevent rubbing.

Thanks

Single rear wheels.
The 225's fit in the wheel wells great, had to trim 1/2" of the corner of the air dam off, other than that no problems.
When my speedo reads 60mph I am actually going 65mph.
I really have not noticed a difference in power. Pulls great.
I run 90-95lbs. loaded and 60-70lbs. unloaded, the 225's are lower profile with minimal sidewall flex unlike the balloon type stockers.
I don,t have a digital camera yet, but the sport red crew cab on the rickson site
http://www.ricksontruck.com/wheels_gm_srw.html looks like mine except I have the polished aluminum.

There are at least four avenues to go getting bigger wheels.

First, you can go to Rickson and get the 19.5" conversion wheels. This
is easy and I have done it. I am running the Toyo 608s 245 19.5". Yes, they
do rub very slightly at full lock. Very, very slightly. I ignore it. The
wheels are DOT approved and have a 4500 lb rating. If you have a wheelbarrow
of cash Rickson will cut 22.5" rims for use on light trucks. There is a picture of a
Ford pickup with 22.5" wheels on the Rickson site.

Second there are a few places that make adapeters to run other 19.5" wheels
with the typical 19.5" wheels.

Third, Stockton Wheel in Stockton, CA will make 19.5" "Super Single" steel wheels
for you. Stockton has been doing this for a long time.

Fourth, you can find some GM or Dodge OEM 19.5 or 17.5 wheels from 40 years ago.
From roughly 1962 to1972 you could order 19.5 and 17.5 wheels and tires from GM
and Dodge on 3/4 ton and 1-ton light trucks. Just two months ago I sold a set of stock, original 17.5" rims from my 1965 1-ton Suburban. This is a good truck trivia
question.

IIRC the eliminator is 338.00 per rim and tires were 249.00 and up

The wheels are heavy and expensive! I got a set used from somebody else on this forum and got a good deal for the top-of-the-line polished eliminators with 245 series
M+S tires.

Use of 225 or 245 19.5 tires will not change power or mileage to any important degree. What you get is the ability to carry much more weight. Why this is important varies with location. In NY it does not matter too much, but here in CA there are very strong registration, insurance, and parking issues that make the 19.5 SRW conversion a big win for non-commercial use.

Just from memory, with a steel Rickson wheel and a 245 tire, the weight is really high, at 192 lbs.
