Ok here it goes. My Fil(Fater-in-Law) has a 1998 1/2 ton Silverado. He calls me the other day and tells me that the wipers just stopped in the middle of a rain storm. Now my 1995 did the same thing several years ago only GM sent me a letter notifying me of a recall or service notice, one of the two. My Fil never recieved a notice on his 98 so my question is did that service notice go to include trucks upto 98? I sold my 95 so I no longer have the offical letter from GM to refere too. Does anyone have this or know what it was that I would have been sent? Did that apply to trucks up to 98's.
Any input would be appricated.

Pull the wiper motor box off of the truck (located on the firewall) and open it up. Look for the big solder connections and re-solder them. It will take you about an hour start to finish. Problem solved. I did this to 2 different vehicles. The solder joints crack and then when they heat up they loose contact.

The campaign (03023) only covers through 1997.

Yeah, it's just the module. My 98 did same thing. Replaced module and away it went.

I resoldered the connections for my 95 but the problem came back again later when the cam wore out. I just wasn't sure what year the campaign ended. Thanks for all the help. :thumb:

AUTOZONE and DISCOUNT both carry the replacement wiper board, so you don't have to go to the dealer for it either.
