Ok i am looking to buy an 2006 duramax, i dont know much about them. i plan on building it and making it a 600hp truck maybe 700hp.

I thought all the diesels had that allisons but i think im wrong.

anyways how much stronger are the allisons?

and is this a good deal

All the dmax 2500 and 3500 hd's come with allisons and the 4500's too .

They are great , and you need to upgrade the trans and converter to hold that kind of power your thinking of . You will do fine for quite a while on pretty hot tunes .

But you will limp the trans and need better parts in there to sustain 600 range

That sounds like a pretty good deal considering the upgrades and lift. What I would worry about is how the truck was driven and used in it's short life. Upgrading to a 1-tonmight mean that it's been worked really hard and on top of that the tune means that it's probably been powered up quite hard which will have an effect of the longevity of the truck since there's no mention of tranny upgrades to handle the extra juice. IF you are going to add parts and throw money into it anyways, you'll probably not be having a problem with breaking parts and upgrades anyways.
