Just made a extra fuel tank setup for my D-max. Will hold 37 gallons and will sit between my truck bed and my tool box, mounted to the bed. Question is this. I will be adding a fuel pump to lift the diesel from the extra tank to go into my existing fuel tank. Do I make modifications to port the 3/8" hose into the fill tube or into the tank. Seems fill tube could be easier. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to go about this task? I would need to cut the fill tube and place a "T" of some sort there and hook the 3/8" hose into that. Do I need a check valve in-line to assure there will not be any chance of fuel coming the opposite way? Any help or advise is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, also adding screw on type fuel filter with mount as well. Will try to post some pics as it gets closer to install time.

There are kits available that install in your truck's filler neck that you tee your extra tank in to. As long as you install a shut off at the base of your extra tank. You can fill your main tank and it will not overflow as long as you leave the trucks fill cap tight. You will not need a fuel pump, gravity works just fine.

Thanks for the info FFDEN. I will look into finding one of those kits locally. Also, hello from IAFF Local 2260 Az.

if you get the kit it has a ball valve in it so when it gets full it automatically shuts off the fuel till the level drops.
