I installed my Kennedy Basic Pump yesterday but i need to add a oil pressure safety switch. I have the switch already but i'm not sure where to install it on the oil filter base. Can anyone tell me where it should go as there are several plugs on it and what size the fitting is , my switch is 1/8 npt and the switch closes at 6 psi. I plan to run the power wire that triggers the relay through this switch.

there is a plug by the oil filter base that gets removed and the sensor threads into that hole. If you look at the oil filter adapter from the rear of the truck, you can see the plug toward the top IIRC

Thread size is 1/2" NPT.
You will need a 10mm Allan Key or In Hex socket, it is TIGHT.
Got mine out without heat, be carefull not to ding fuel line or oil filter.

Will oil come out of the plug orifice when the plug is pulled? Basically trying to determine if the oil will need to be drained prior to pulling the plug.

Have the oil pressure safety switch close by and make a quick switch with the plug, it'll be ok...

With what tool combonation is the best way to attack the plug? After inserting a tradtional style 10mm allen wrench, with small cheater bar, the way the bolt was clocked, limited the movement and pressure that could be applied before contacting the floor pan. Has anyone used a socket style allen head and traditional socket wrench to remove the plug?

Are you attacking the plug from under neath reaching up and around the oil adapter, or are you getting to it from the top, through the hood?

I used a socket style allen to remove mine just make shure you don't puntch your truck breaking it loose and no stitches will be needed.:D
