Are fuel additives recommended for the "05 LLY? I've been told be a snake oil salesman low sulfer fuel over the long run damages injectors and pumps.
If additives are a good idea what brands are recommended?

Dude... search for the word "Lubricity" and get ready to read for awhile. Top performer was BioDiesel. And yes... you want to be using fuel additives. There are several good ones... depends on how much you want to spend.

Member Arlen Spicer performed a very good study of lubricity additives here:

I use and sell Diesel Plus. It gives me a 2 mpg increase, which translates into a $10.50 savings per tankful. I have a 26 gal. tank. That savings is over top of the cost of the additive. It lubricates, stabilizes the fuel, and helps the fuel to burn completely. In the winter it can be used for anti-gel. I have used the Diesel Plus for 5 years and have been very happy. Any questions just call me or PM me.
