Most of the sensors are emissions related so they have an extended warranty period also (80K I think).

Not sure what your asking.
The 100,000 mile warranty on 2006 is for the duramax motor only. Not the trans or rearend.
Starting with the LMM is the 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty.

I am almost positive that the 5/100,000 powertrain was introduced in 2007, My classic lbz has the 5/160,000km (canada) powertrain warranty, the same as my brothers 2007 LMM.

The 5yr / 100K powertrain began with the 07 model year.

It's on the 07s, I bought my 06 and found out about the 100k waranty on the 07s about 5 min. after I signed the papers.

Here's a question then, I've got an 07 classic with the 100k power train warranty. Should I worry about the T-case pump problem, or just let the dealer handle it when the problem arises?

I just purchased 2006 LLY, loaded LT, all stock with 17,710 miles on it and factory 3/36 warranty good to September. :)
I'm looking at extended warrantys and wondering if the gamble is worth the savings. $2,997.00 will get me a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty to June of 2014. I had an extended warranty on my Ford Expedition and it was well worth it(but then again that was a Ford), but I don't have a extended warranty on my 04 Monte Carlo and it was a good gamble and savings of $1,600.00.;)
What is the experience of people who have put 100,000 miles on their Duramax trucks and the resultant service dollars after the 3/36 warranty covered expenses? What about transmissions and drive train issues? I understand my engine is covered for 100,000, but not the transmision and drive train because it is an 06. My primary use is to pull a 7,000 lb boat and 11,000 lb 5th wheel trailer. Thanks for any input anyone can offer

I'm on my 3rd Dmax, I traded my 02 with 30,000 miles it gave me no trouble. On my 03 I had to replace pitman arm and idle arm at 70,000 miles and traded it at 93,000. So the total of out of waranty repairs on my 03 was about $450.00 . So far on my 06 the only repair has been a drivers side seat spring at about 20,000 miles, I now have 38,000 miles on it. These trucks are pretty reliable, if something bad happens you'll regret not haveing the extended waranty but I'm willing to take a chance. About the worst thing that can happen would be the tranny breaking but that is'nt likely unless you add allot of power.

I'd save your $$$ if I were you. Do a VIN check and see what if any service has been done or possible problems have been fixed, if you haven't already. The loads you state for towing are not that heavy and is well within what these things were built for. Not to say you might have been dealt the occasional lemon, but my bet would be on no major problems before 100k miles on that truck for that type of duty. I considered it on my 2006 LLY but decided to pass on it.

If i change the exhaust on my 2008 Chevy Duramax.. will my warranty be voided.. i called gm but now one could answer my question maybe someone hear knowsThey can give you a hard time but they can only void the warranty on the part you removed which is your exhaust system. If your after market exhaust causes another part to fail then that part will not be covered.
