Not new to working on cars or trucks, but new to these trucks, got a 04.5 2500HD. Well the bearings and hub assembly is shot, new one should be here tomorrow. Is there anything I should know or need to watch for when replacing it? Any tips or tricks? Torque specs I need to know. Usually I have manuals for all my vehicals, but have not gotten one for the truck yet. Just looking for some friendly advise.

Thanks
Jeff

Only tips I would say is have a breaker bar because those nuts are TIGHT. Aswell make sure you locktie everything and double check all the nuts for tightness. Set aside about 2-3 hrs the first time , second time took me about 40mins. There is also a great diy article about this on the site. Give me 2 mins and ill give you a link

It's actually pretty straight forward Jeff. Just replace one on my 03. The only thing to watch out for is the CV axle removal from the old hub. Mine slid right out, but I've heard that they can be stubborn.

Good Luck!

Thanks Guys....

one hour 2 beers, 3 smokes and my truck is back on the road! O'yah, blew out my 8 ton craftsman jack though...but she's lived a good life.

Just wanna thank you guys for the help/insight on this. Reason #1 why this site is great.
