Does anybody know why these trucks keep limping. I have a 04.5lly 3500 4by4 with ATS tranny work done. It has no other programer on it .It's basicly stock. I had a recent reflash done on Tuesday and BOOM limp. Does gmc have any idea what causes this? The code it pops is p1093. Won't go over 2000rpm and tranny shifts funny.

its not tranny limp, thats a rail pressure code. Trans has absolutely nothing to do with it.

What programs and or boxes are you running......somebody on here and I can't remember who solved that with a FASS system.

on edit: no programs....hmmmmmm..sounds like there is something wrong with fuel delivery.....start with a fresh filter and work back. I would take it back to the dealer. I have yet to do this even with stacked programs.....knock on wood!

I was running the hypertech 111 and it would do it with that. Then I deprogramed it and put it back to stock and it still did it. I then took it to the dealer and they reflashed and it did it bone stock after the reflash. The truck only has 5000miles on it . I called roadside assistance and had it towed to the dealer. They said their tech was able to catch it on a snapshot on the computer. The tech doesn't have a clue what to do with it so he has to call GM tech line for help. I really hope they can get it fixed or a tow truck will be towing it everyday to the stealer and a nice long paper trail will be made.

We changed the fuel filter in McRat's truck to make it go away. The fuel that was in it was only a couple of weeks old. He didn't have to towed though he would reset it with predator.

Tough to get away from the dreaded 1093. As previously stated, someone has supposedly solved the issue with a FASS or AIRDOG, cant remember which one. Might just need a small pump to help with the feed as it seems the stock system cant keep up:confused:

I am buying a 2005 gmc d/a this week and trading in a 2000 cummins. I was plagued with fuel lift pump problems(4 new pumps, the lastest one took the injection pump with it to the tune of 2000$-- goodbye dodge) I was hoping to get away from these fuel problems!!!

The fuel pump issues on the dmax's are slight compared to the 2nd. gen cummins.

I'm glad to hear that! I can't figure why either dodge or chevy would think it is a good idea to suck fuel out the tank instead of pushing it. Basic hydraulics tells you that.

My truck never threw the 1093's until I ventured into the 100+ HP tuners.

Right now, I'm not getting them. But I'm going to play with a cheapo lift pump to see if I can eliminate them 100%.

I NEVER got a 1093 during a truck pull or drag race. Errr... Scratch that. The first pass ever with Pred on 100 threw the 1093, then the next 10 passes nothing.

I think the real solution for competition purposes is to change the programming in the truck so the 1093 Limp rpm value is changed to 4000 from 2000. It will still throw the light, but it will not cause you to lose a race.

True but if you do what needs to be done like add a Fass, you kill that issue. Dodge/Cummins blew it big time on something as simple as a lift pump on the VP44 engines.

Why is that when I saw the specs for the gas predator it can disable a bunch of codes such as ones from removing the cat and stuff, but it doesn't do that for the diesel. When tbyrne posted the specs of the gas predator on gm-trucks it had a ton of codes it could be set to ignore.
