WilliamBos 04-30-2008, 11:24 AM MF RED!!
rockman20 04-30-2008, 11:51 AM I really do like JD and they are some good tractors. We have 2 4020's that have been through hell and back and they are still going. Even the 6030 was abused years ago and that is still ticking.
However, I don't care for the price. I like my Farmall/IH. That red doesn't cost as much as the green and it has proven itself over and over for us to. We have an old 400 that basically runs on 3 of its 4 cylinders now. That tractor use to be the primary plow tractor way back in the day! It was over worked, overheated, and just down right abused and it just won't die. Even with only 3 cylinders now the dang thing still pulls good and doesn't seem to mind missing a cylinder!
V8 Perkins Dude 04-30-2008, 06:29 PM where is massey red on the poll????? IH red is completely different! lol
jmiller 04-30-2008, 06:41 PM what, no Deere yellow?

kdogg2785 05-01-2008, 11:27 AM They say a John Deere is an International that Has not ripened yet. I don't know about that though. LOL
rockman20 05-01-2008, 11:34 AM *LOL* That's funny! I will have to remember that the next time the argument of IH and Deere comes up!
bullydog215 05-02-2008, 12:38 PM John Deere Green
03demax 05-02-2008, 04:46 PM I like my old Case colors Orange and yellow/tan. The tractor in my avatar. It was my grandfathers. I asked for it when I was 5. I said "grampa can I have your Case when you are done with it" Without a bat of an eye he said "yes". He gave it to me when I was twenty years old. It has been repainted and used for snow plowing. Maybe that is why I love the old Case colors.
01Duramax6spd 05-02-2008, 06:02 PM JD Green :D.
mudbuddy 05-02-2008, 08:05 PM we have 8 or 9 2440s on our farm. 2 4040s 2 2640 loaders. 6 or 7 case hilos. and lots more green.
Farmer Dave 05-02-2008, 08:12 PM Green and Red tractors are best. We had some of the blue ones painted red and they were junk. All the old IH are great tractors but JD green is worth every penny IMO.
Hold my beer, while I smoke this Deere!!

farmer0_1 05-04-2008, 01:54 AM i like the early massy harris tractors and i didn't see cockshut co-op orange on there either. my moms family loved them , not me. green for me unless its a M vintage int. grew up with a 420 jd . also had a TO 20 ferguson was glad to see it go.
plstokes 05-12-2008, 06:09 PM MF RED!
jndeer97 05-16-2008, 03:29 AM Hence, the screen name jndeer. We grew up with Red on the farm but sadly today they make (junk),, and it's too bad. After the days of doin wheelies with the 1066turbo,, my youth is past and we're forced to work with todays stronger more reliable Green. Truth be know some of my better days are spent rakin hay all day long on our old Farmall M, I can't think of a better way to spend a day.
kdogg2785 05-16-2008, 10:23 AM I like the way you think.

blizzardplowman 05-18-2008, 03:33 PM That would be a good question, I have Green, Red, blue. i didnt vote. Where is MF RED?!!!
66bullet 05-30-2008, 10:29 AM Grew up all red, and still have some (656, 300, Super C, 450), but my favorite is Empire Blue, which is the color on my 1955 Fordson Major. Green makes a good machine (especially 4020), but we could never afford them when I was a kid.
1BADMAX01 05-31-2008, 09:08 AM Orange. Nothin runs like a Deere except that old Allis that runs better!
bowtiecrazy 05-31-2008, 12:31 PM Orange. Nothin runs like a Deere except that old Allis that runs better!
I agree. just finished disking with our 22 foot allis disk with the 8070 4wd last night that has 10,000 on the rebuild engine. always was around them, drove other brands, and i will not convert. great tractors.

Sounds like my 5 yr old grandson. Guess when boys get to be 5 they start thinking about those things. He not only wants my JD, he wants my old CJ5.
