Hi all,
I have the opportunity to purchase some nice looking wheels off of a 2001 Silverado 1500. They are stock chevy wheels but are aluminum and much better than the steelys that are on my rig now. Will they work okay? They are 6 bolt like mine and *seem* to fit.
Anyone have knowledge they could shower me with?

A few guys around here have done the same on their trucks and they seem to be ok. Look better too!:cool2:

Right on! I am getting them for a song, hell I will probably pay more to get the nasty Les Schwab tires off them -:t
Ya know, aluminum wheels.. wow.. this is the closest I have gotten to chroming something.

Look at the back of the rims for weight rating I had to shelve mine for a heavier duty rim. 3300 lb vs 2000 factory
You can put rims from a 99+ on the older body but not vise versa. The brake calipers are too large. When I traded in my '97 Tahoe I put the UGLY rims from my wifes '02 Tahoe on it, so I could keep my aftermarket rims.

Thanks MDT,
These are stock 2001 Chevrolet aluminum rims but they look good. Well, they look good sitting on the shop floor at least http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif I will get em on the truck and post a pic for comments.

After fighting the crud and the weather for 2 weeks I got the wheels mounted on the rig and the fit perfectly! The also changed the ride. Now I just have to get the Schwab rubber off here and get some revos.
