I just bought a LBZ and was looking to put an exhaust on it. Nothing to loud or crazy, was thinkin of a 4" turbo back. I know MBRP makes a good if not the best for the duramax, but I found a Diamond Eye 4" for about $300 with shipping on ebay. Then theres a AFE (Advanced Flow Engineering) for about the same $, which "claim" 22hp/45tq at the wheels from their 4" turbo back, hah.

Whats the difference with this "Aluminized Exhaust" that I am seeing? Is it preferred, if so why?

Your right, MBRP makes a good if not the best for the duramax. The difference with this "Aluminized Exhaust" is it will last about 5 to 7 years from what I hear. I could not see taking off a stainless exhuast and puting on one that will rust.

Diamond Eye 4" is a great system, we use them quite a bit.

Aluminized systems are carbon steel with a aluminized protective coating that keeps it from rusting out quickly. For the most part a aluminized exhaust will be all that you need unless you live in a harsh enviroment. Even then the Stainless systems develop surface rust. The one thing is you will not get as good of a warranty with a alum. system as you will a stainless system.

Give one of us vendors here a shot before you go and buy from Ebay, you would be surprised what kind of deals we have, we can ship stainless systems for about the same price as the one on Ebay.
