I'm trying to retrofit my Hummer's engine to use the standard and smaller gear reduction starter instead of the 60 pound Prestolite weather sealed unit common on the H1's.

Does anyone have pictures as to how this starter brace is installed? I have it (it's 13 dollars wholesale now), and I need to see how it's installed to see if I have the same boss to install it to.

It's hard to see but picture one is where it goes into the block and pic 2 is where it connects to the starter.

Thanks. It figures - my starter doesn't have a bolt/tab thingy that will fit the bracket. Nice.

I fractured my original bolts today - they were only grade 9.8, and the replacements are 10.8, so that will be an improvment from the start. But having the bracket will be useful.
