I plan on doing the PVC reroute this weekend. Is there any reason why you can't just vent to atmosphere?(the rerouted hose) Do I have to put a filter, check valve, breather vent etc. on the end? I have enough hose to reach near the back of the truck which I plan on doing to avoid any odors entering the cab.

You do not have to plumb the hoses into a filter, you can vent to the air if you choose. Check out this kit put together by Tony Burkhard, a vendor here.

I just zip tied the vent hose to a line on the drivers side. No filter or catch can of any kind. I have not had any oil residue or oil drips.

Is that kit for the LBZ's? Or, atleast the trucks with the hard PCV Lines (LBZ included)?
I went and looked at it on his page, but I couldn't find it, I guess you gotta call the order in?
EDIT: I see they will work for LBZ's, but how does one go about ordering them?

Do it as Roadrunner says, doesn't cost anything but your length of heater hose. Make sure to cut the end at an angle depending on where you live. Some that live where it is cold and snowy in the winter found it could plug up if left straight across

Click on him in the vendor section and call him on his cell or business phone. I did an on-phone order. If you need more help, let me know, and I will get you the numbers. Good luck! Keep us posted on your results! :) ;)
Here is his business info! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/vendor_redirect.php?id=73
