So i just saw this: http://www.knfilters.com/diesel/diesel_pickup_trucks.htm
and I was amazed at the dyno chart: http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/57-3034.pdf
it is kind of hard to argue with a dyno graph right? I used to think from reading on here that an intake doesnt really do much, but by looking at this dyno sheet it sure as hell looks like it made a big improvement!
comments/suggestions?
They been tested here. Read the sticky at the top of this section. I am not surprised that K&N has raving dyno results for marketing purposes created by K&N for K&N. Many out here have had isues with them.
Some of the newer truck MAF's have problems with K&N. Oil mist burns onto the metal pick-up and sets a code.

That's what happened on my 03 gasser. I had to replace the MAF sensor because of the oil. Will never run a cleaner other than paper with a pre-filter again. K&N are crap. Had 4 of them on rigs and replaced them all.

The trick with the K&N is let it set over night after you oil it.Any extra oil will run off. Most people get carried away with the oil, after they clean them.I had one on my 2000 6.0L for 75000miles,with no trouble.I have one on my 03 dmax since it was new,and have had no problems. With all the other brands that are out now.I don't know if I would spend that much. They are kinda pricey.I'm sure the other brands would have similer gains.I think you are just paying for the name.

Actually, I had never cleaned my K&N, only had it on the truck for 20K miles when MAFs went out. Factory oil job.

Chevy will not warrenty a MAFS if there is a K&N filter on. I had to take the filter off, install the stock box and filter and return to the dealer to have it replaced.
As far as K&N flowing well after dust is on it, bull. Tucker Snow Cat had to replace a CAT motor for a customer because it "sucked" the filter into the intake (folded the filter in half) and the motor sucked dust and had to be replaced. They do not run K&N and sent all existing costomers replacement filters so they could toss the K&N in the trash.
