I have a friend who owns a body shop and he has a customers truck in thats an 04 Diesel 3500 quad cab with a Fisher plow on it. The front rails on the frame are pushed to the right about 4 inches and the right side is kinked bad. I was under the impression that no welding on these new frames. He found out Chrysler has front rail sections available for parts to cut of and weld in. Just asking for my own info I guess. He is doubtfull the frame will straiten out from just the frame machine.

Someone drove into the left side of the plow pushing the nose to the right. A tough hit to any truck. I was looking for info about the welding on the frame which I remember reading about on TDR being a no no. I can't log on anymore so I can't search the site over there. Any info on this Hoot?

In the Dodge manual, they show tube inserts that allow a repair to be done on the frame by cutting out the bad part of the tube, placing the insert that is sized to slide into the existing straight part of the tube and welded back up. Pretty slick. Have your friend try to get ahold of the book or CD manual.
