I can't link to the page in the egr mod where Fingers has instructions and pictures for installation of the egr blocker plate. Please don't say read the 64 pages, because I have twice. Did the instructions get moved someplace else?

Yes,
Need to know where the egr blaocker plate goes and any tricks associated with installation. Pictures and or detailed description would be handy.

i don't have any pic's but it is located on the passanger side and closest to the fire wall on the top side of the motor. on that side of the motor there is this cilinder like thing that goes from the intake to the back of the motor on the part closes to the fire wall there are two bolts that hold the part of the exoust to this clinder thing you have to loosen those bolts enough to get the plate in there. from what i can rember they are 12 point bolts. just don't drop any thing down the in to the pipe. it is really easy to do.

Thanks,
I was looking at that area last night. It is a stainless tube about 2 inches in diameter, running back toward the firewall. I see what they meant now in the post where the guy that lost his 12 mm socket. I appreciate your help.
Are you happy with the results of putting in the blocker plate?
I have heard some say that in the northern climates in which we live in that the egr valve actually helps to warm up these trucks faster.(I am in WI by the way)

i think it does but with the factory exhaust becuse with any thing else the egr doens't work right. i put on an exhaust and the blocking plate before it get cold at all.

My experience with it is this:
Takes a lot longer to get up to normal operating temp and won't stay there long unless you're on the hwy. It drops pretty quickly when you slow down or come to a stop but holds around (I'm guessing here because the little lines don't make much sense) 180-185.
Truck seems to run a lot better with it blocked and doesn't gripe as much when cold and having to accelerate. Since I put it on, my truck really seems to have more pickup. Of course, I did it when I installed the AFE Stage 2 so that might have a little something to do with it, but the cold weather rattle isn't there anymore. Did the finger stick at the same time since the air cleaner was out of the way.
That silver thing is the EGR cooler. It has a hose in the front and one in the back to let coolant flow to cool the exhaust before introducing it to the intake. If you have many miles on your truck, those nuts are gonna be nice and tight! Take your time and don't be afraid to curse at it. I did! It seems to help! ):h
