I have a feeling this is just the way it is so I suppose this post is half complaint and half inquiry.
My truck is an 06 4X4 2500. It's so annoying that the temp changes (or reverts back to its previous setting) when you change where the heat/cool is coming from.
Ex: In the morning I put on the defrost to clear the window. After rolling for a few minutes the window is clear and I'd rather have the heat at my feet so I change where the air is coming from. 2 minutes later I look down and it's blowing 60 degree air on me!!! And it's not immediate. Once you change the output location it takes about 5 - 10 seconds for the temp to change. Just enough time to look back at the road and forget about the heat.
Am I just missing something obvious here? If I were to grade the ergonomics of this heat/a-c system (and the gauges overall) I'd give them an F- Don't get me wrong I love this truck... it's just that some of the controls are really inconvenient.
As a contrast I hopped in a rental Toyota Camry the other day. Within seconds I was able to figure out the controls. One big knob for fan speed, one big knob for temp. and one big knob for outupt location. How hard is that? Why must we have a push button that requires repeated pushing to max or min the fan?
I know these are small things but it's just an annoyance.
Even so, I'd buy this truck over again in an instant.... just ranting a bit :)
