x2, and stacks have never been cool. The only reasons for stacks is if you need it for sled pull/racing and the truck isn't driven on the road (stacks out of the hood) or if you have to have them because you tow stuff for other people and can't get soot all over it. Other than that, stacks just make you look like a tool.

I'll never roll a truck...again. At least that's what I said after the first time. I was damn sure glad to have them the second time. The first time was 90 degrees, the roll bar wasn't even scratched and I drove it home. The second time was 180 degrees and after changing a flat tire, I drove it home. Maybe if I stayed on pavement...

I agree with some of the others. Do what YOU want with it. But I do like the rollbars myself. I grew up thinking they were awsome. I want some for mine to. Another option would be to do BOTH.

I see no problem with rollbars. The right one would look good.

maybe instead of a rollbar, go with a backrack. You can still put lights on them for off-road use or what not.

Yes a JC Whitney truck! If I had to pick between the two...stacks. But mitre cut no higher than the cab 5" maybe 6" no bigger. Rollbars didn't even look cool 20 yrs ago...I was 5 then and it still didn't look cool. I personally like the look of dual exhaust exiting at the rear corners, like the silverline system.

The backrack option might be one way to go. Protects the back window some. Just my $.02

I would say stacks for sure. But, you need to make up your own mind because it's your truck and your money.

I think 95% of us are redneck, hillbillies or country people. How much does that rollbar cost? I would take that money and buy some perfomance mods. then when u got big power you can get the stacks.

I've always liked the brush/grille guard and winch mount combo with a roll/light bar like the Fall Guy truck.

But, I've always liked stacks too. As long as they are tasteful and not 6" diameter that stick 3 feet above the cab! I like a little curve (not a slash cut) and cab height or just a little higher.

Of course I wouldn't put either on my own truck. I'm thinking about trying the pre-runner look with this one!

Bottom line: it's YOUR truck. Do what makes YOU happy. Look at pictures of other trucks for inspiration. Take "lessons learned" advice and assistance from people that have parts you want. For an opinion, don't ask for one - go with your own. Take your time and look around - you'll see what you like and you'll know what you want to do.

I'm not a big fan of either, unless you need them (stacks) or are building a fall guy truck replica (no sarcasm. I have an 84 K10 I bought a chrome roll bar for for that reason). I do like headache racks, though. Particularly BackRack and RKI racks.

But it is your truck, so I would no worry what others say and do what you like.

What about this, though....build (or have built) a roll bar with stacks incorporated into them? For example, take a double tube rollbar and turn the first tube into a set of stacks? That might be kinda cool.:D

Duel exhaust exiting in front of the tires. Then when you light up the tires the exhaust blows the tire smoke out instead of it staying under the truck.

I vote STACKS!!!

if you're set on doing one of the two, why not do both. Mod/fabricate a roll bar that doubles as a set of stacks. whicked idea, but something i'd never do. don't like roll-bars and don't ever see the need for a stack on my truck

of course i stop reading the thread at #27. My bad duckhunter:o:

Don't go too big! If you don't need that much, go 4 inch. Too large a pipe can actually HURT your flow.
