Guys, Can somebody get the 411 of the recall they announced yesterday on the 04 and 05's? Is it every truck or just certain VIN's.

GM dealers usually find out about recalls a month after the general public, so we may have to wait awile...

It's posted here somewhere. It's only certain vehicles with a brake booster accumulator that may leak due to cracks. There are 155,000 vehicles involved. The recall is coming out in March.

Is the brake booster accumulator recall just for the 2004.5 LLY's and newer? Or is it also including 2004 LB7's?

Page 3 of the PDF that I posted say's "Manufacturing dates from 02/04". They where installing LLY's during that period.

when I go to the "stealer" are they gonna know?from my vin #???

they were installing LLYs earlier than that. Ive got one and the manf. date on the engine is 01/04. truck was also at the dealer of Fri am and they scanned for recalls, none on my truck that they know about as of now.

note: truck was at dealership for turn signal issue, see related posts. For all of you having the problem, it is the multifunction switch that needs to be replace and it only takes about a half an hour to do. they also replaced my intermediate steering shaft at it made a huge difference

This recall will be out officially in March. They are developing a special tool to make the repair. The dealer will not know if your vehicle is envolved untill then.
