I just purchased my FIRST diesel! I got a used 2003 Sierra 2500HD (stock other than cosmetic), see picture attached. I feel like I have put my foot through the floor to get it going (has 40K miles). My previous truck was a Tundra which was pretty fast. Is there anything I can do to change this without spending too much money?

Juice, Predator, Quad. Lots of reasonably priced tuning options, some with diagnostics, others without. Do some searching thru the power and performance forum and you'll find a wealth of info. Personally I wouldn't run a tuner without adding gauges, at least egt, tho.

Nice looking stocker. Humm, more power and dont want to spend alot of $. Well....better OEM air filter and a handheld programmer like HyperTech might help with about $400 total spending.

Nice truck. One thing I would suggest doing right away is changing the fuel filter if it hasn't been already. I know when we bought our used truck (50k miles I think), after we changed the fuel filter it felt 100x better. Of course the other power mods in my sig make a night/day difference over stock:ro)

I feel like I have put my foot through the floor to get it going (has 40K miles)A couple of comments:
1. When running a bone stock diesel engine there is going to be noticeable turbo lag (The time it takes the turbo to spin fast enough to do some good).
2. The Allison transmission shifts so smooth you hardly realize how quickly your speed is increasing and how quickly it is going through the gears.
3. Try this test: From a dead stop put the go pedal to the floor. If you don't feel like it kind of sets you back in your seat, especially in 2nd and 3rd gear, then change the fuel filter and try it again. If no improvement, have your dealer check it out.
Just my $.02 worth.

I would suggest if you are in the market for performance enhancing products and you tow that a 4" exhaust be the first item I would change.......a turbo's need air in and exhaust out effeciaently to make more power with lower EGT's.
Next would be an adjustable chip like the EDGE or Van Aaiken Plug and Play boxes.
If you do not want gauges then the EDGE is the way to go.
Check the classifieds here and the supporting vendors out, many will have what you need and there is plenty of onfo on these subjects by using the SEARCH FEATURE.....

Love those rims and tires. Did you put them on?

Rims came with it when purchased. One of the reasons I was interested. Went to the local "tire" shop and they told me the rims and tires were an additional $2000.

Welcome to our twisted world! Nice truck. Like Gray Ghost said ealier, I would recommend changing the fuel filter first. There wil be a bit of turbo lag from a dead start, but even stock these trucks usually have pretty impressive acceleration. If that's not enough there are plenty of aftermarket programmers that can give you all the power you want and more. Good luck!
