i have an 02 and ordered some 03-06 tail lights for my truck just like the look of them more. but what do i need to do to get them to work on my 02? there just the housings no wires or bulbs with them. can i simply plug in the bulbs to the new housing? thanks for the help

Does the 02 chevy use the same type tail light as the GMC's use? (amber turn sinal). If so, then you want to get the wiring harnes with the tail lights. When I changed my 04 GMC over to the Chevy style lights I had to get the wiring harness also. It will just plug right in that way.

Sorry to say............not true. It's best to get the harnesses b/c they'll plug and play. The 03-up use a 194 marker that 02-99 does not. That, and the actual bulb twist plug ears are different too. You can use them on eachother, but you have to trim the ears, thus losing the tight factory seal. Will they work, yes. Will they be as quality as a stock plug and play, no.

And 99-07 GMC's are the same as 99-02 Chevy. Duallies are similar to them as well (as far as harnesses are concerned). They will however plug into the underside of the bed without a problem. And if you get the newer harnesses, the 194 marker will then work as well.

any ideas where i can fnd a wiring hareness for a 03-06 tail lights? check ebay and nothing. need a few wiring harnesses for the truck but can seem to find any of them.
