I have a PRXB on my 2003 duramax and it worked great untill about three weeks ago. I was coming down a really nasty hill and the road was super slick ice and snow. Oh yeah I had a trailer with some metal roofing on it. About 9000 lbs total in the trailer. Well the brake worked wonderfully but when I got home I let my truck idle to cool the egts alittle and I noticed my exhaust brake compressor turned on so I turned off the switch. Well the next day the exhaust brake would not come on. So I checked everything and the thing I found was a burnt out fuse to my compressor. And now the fuse keeps blowing out. Pac Brake thinks its the compressor and sent me a new one but it still blows the fuse. Im stumped need some advice. Any Ideas anyone? Or has anyone had a similiar problem with a Pacbrake exhaust. Let me clear this up I Love my Pacbrake exhaust brake and would buy one again for another truck. Just my bad luck with this one.

My friend kinda had this same issue with his Air Horn setup. Swapped out compressors because it kept blowing the fuse, horns would work intermittently, some horns would work and some wouldn't.

Turned out there was moisture in the System, and it would freeze in the Solenoid, Horns, Tank, everywhere.

So long story short, dunno what components are used in the PAC Setup, but check the lines for moisture, pull the plug on the Tank and see if any moisture blows out, check the Compressor, ect...

Any short in your power wires could blow the fuse - check/replace your wiring.

I checked all the wires and hoses and nothing. I think some how i got a short in the black box controller. Pac brake has been great with helping me out. Just thought i would check with people on here to see if they have had a similar problem. This place is great you find answers to everything a duramax could have. And then some.
