Hey guys, whats the hipe about high idle? I have a duramax and I can not decide why higher idle would be better. The only thing I can think of is that higher idle mite reduce turbo lag. Please excuse the question, but I am a rookie
here.

It's used for the purpose of helping warm up the engine, mostly in colder climates. It has nothing to do with the turbo. High idle is only operative while the truck is in Park.

I enjoy it in the summer months, helps to get the a/c compressor spinning faster so I can jump into a cool truck. After my truck has been sitting at the racetrack all day, by the time I load my race car into the trailer, I jump into a very cold truck. :cool2:

would activating the high idle during prolonged idle time (warm up on cold mornings) also raise the oil pressure thereby improving engine oil circulation?
The high idle works in both Park and Neutral. I use it in park for both warming up in cold weather, or cooling down after heavy pulling. I also use it when boosting another vehicle. The neutral use is great when using the winch under heavy load and needing the truck to be able to roll.

I'm getting together with a buddy this coming weekend to install these kits on our 2001's. We ordered them from Eric and have saved the installation instructions from Kennedy's website. We're both looking forward to the benefits.
