First i want to say this forum is great. Kudos to all of you. I am in the army and currently serving in Mosul Iraq with 1-8 IN. Before I deployed i purchased a 2002 dmax to have some fun with and i hae wanted one since they came out. Could finally afford one after 7 years or so. Any way installed 4" exhaust, s&b air intake and bully dog PMT. The problem is my tranny (72000 miles) is going into limp mode when i put the programmer on extreme (130 hp i think). Does anyone have any suggestions on mods to handle this and possible Crazy Larry program (230 hp). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I dont plan on adding anymore power, just the programmer and eventually a slightlylarger turbo to clean up the extra fuel. Thanks again and i appoligize for the length of this post.

You don't have to appologize for nothing! We appreciate what you're doing for us! Go ahead and ask all the questions you want, that's why this board is here. I personally prefer Suncoast products over the rest.

Thanks for your service!!!
I have had nothing but good luck with Suncoast products as well(not saying there is anything wrong with ATS).
If you plan to do a turbo/lift pump upgrade I would go with a SCIV, if you are going to just stick with a programmer you will be fine with a SCIII.
Stay safe over there and if you have any other questions just ask!!!

I agree SunCoast Stage 4 Or 5. I like My SunCoast Stage 4 trans with the 1057 converter.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. I hoping to install the tranny upgrades when i get home for leave in july. Does any one have an approximate cost to install something like a stage 4.

Suncoast III roughly $3500-$4000. Suncoast IV between $4000-$5000. If you will be coming back to the Midwest area and want an ATS kit then I'd recommend Crank It Up Diesel in Ohio. I love my Stage 2 from them. Check out the link BHoward6.6 posted on a previous post for their prices. Thanks for your service to our country!

i got my parts from J & R Automotive in Streamwood IL for alot less $4000.00. it was suncoast stage 4 and 1057 converter. i did all the work myself it wasnt bad. i did invert my c5 clutch pack on reassembly but i straightened it out easily and i have about 30k on it now. over all it wasnt that hard just nerve racking cuz it was my trans if you know what i mean . i would do another one in a heart beat now.

I think Chris was quoting installed prices(parts and labor). I hope he was at least! :D
