before the turbo, in the manifold,

although i have considered getting an isspro turbo monitor ( keeps engine running after you switch it off, monitors after turbo egts rather than just idling for a set amount of time) and they recommend putting it in the downpipe

Passenger manifold for me

In my 7.3L Powerstroke, I see about 50° F difference when cruising 65 mph on level ground unloaded. When starting up a steep grade loaded, I see about 500°F difference. When I get to the top of a steep grade and start on level or downhill road, the post-turbo probe is actually hotter (the pre-turbo one cools down first).
