HAs anyone had a problem with the pedal assembly and the electric motor that attaches to it? My pedal is hard to push down, and then all of a sudden in finally goes real quick. It also does always return immediately. Some times it actually slaps back on the bottom of my foot.

It's a simple assy to remove. I'd check for a rock binding it or the floor covering jammed in there. As for stiffness, there was a thread on here way back about changing the spring out for a lighter one from home depot. A little lube on the roller and hinge couldn't hurt, either.

Found the lighter spring thread here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213971&highlight=pedal+spring.

A search for "pedal spring" would have revealed it:rolleyes:.

Had a similiar thing with a 1999 1500 Gas Silverado. Seems to be a fix for the issue I had. I was so use to it i never really noticed but anyone else that drove it noticed it. When I traded it off I was talking to the dealer that mentioned he noticed and they fixed it.

I have checked and lubed the spring, and it works fine. It also works fine when the truck is not running. I am thinking it is the magnet inside the motor. Doesn't it basically work in reverse of a standard dc motor, woiuldnt the rotor basically drive the stator to output a voltage?
