thought i would start a thread on what users are tuning as far as pulse width and timing in your tunes , i think it will help people know what is working and how far they can push the invelope. hear we go
truck and mods in my sig
race tune 2900- 3100 usec and 29 deg max timing
hot tune 2400-2500 usec and 23 deg
tow tune 1800-2000 usec and 19 deg
mild tow 1700-1800 usec and 19 deg
stock 1200-1400 usec and 0-17 dependin on wich timing table

these numbers are the max pulse width #s at 80-100 mm3 @ 24000-26000 psi right wear its usable at wot.
this is what i have been using and it is treating well if i'm off some one let me know. Lets see what every one else is runing

Many people can't (protecting a tuners race tune specs) or won't ( spent a ton of time figuring out what timing vs pulse width works best) share exact numbers. I will say at your race pulse widths (which I drive on daily) I run more timing than you are. Your numbers are in the ball park of many tuners.

thanks for the response :) what i was really trying to do is get the guys using hp to open up a little and the people using it sucsessfully to sho others what kind of changes are made to acheive different levels of performance and hopfully encorage more people to tune their trucks , i hear from alot of people who dont have a clue were to start , and i have to admit that the little bit of info i posted took many hours to learn trial / error, and had to go it alone , i guess it was a good way to learn though, and still have much to learn, so i do apriciate the advice . ;)

Bill,

Is working on some pid for the diesel guys to get an easy start right out of the box. I was helping him out with scanning for him until my laptop starting acting funny, then it finally died.

He basically wants to see which ones work the best just the diesels. If you any suggestion on new one pm him for sure man. We can make it even better. Send him some scans of the different pid also. It would be nice to have them from other people also.

I have an lly so I am a little different there. I have done two LB7s for friends and both are tow rigs, so I run a max of 1850 and 18*. That is as far as I will push their trucks without gauges.

It is very close to your tow settings, watch your EGTs if you are towing heavy with your tow tune, you may be a little hot at 2000.

ya it can run a little hot, with my turbo and water meth it will not go above 1250 and thats towing 13000 lbs up a 6-8 % grade @ 70 mph but i do watch it carefully, whay kind of #'s are you running on your lly ?
