Wow. That is probably the best stack yet. Now I need to get a Van Aaken. :(

I bet McRat was impressed.

You didn't by chance throw the VA/pred stack on McRat's truck with NOS? That would have been interesting. I would like to see what you could do with VA/pred/pane and nitrous. Although you would need to haul a trailer around for all the goodies. :badidea: ):h

Got Juice?

A trailer with a box to sweep the busted pieces into?

Yeah, it was impressive.:D Looks like we found out how much fuel a LLY can stand. To say it smoked would be like saying Hiroshima got a little warm in the summer of 45.

Even with the ducted exhaust it pretty much filled the room. Should have brought the camera.

Needs nitrous. :D

When you say VA High, is that the 200 hp version? or 110 hp?

Awesome #'s though!

mrmagu nice work.

I see in your sig u have J/A, a run w/ it would have been nice for a comparison.

mrmagu

VA LLY is advertised as 100 HP, dont believe more is available as Diesel Power says from anyone.

J/A has been done, 397 HP 700 TQ. Did not try with Pane. But does not stack with any drivability so did not bother. Was trying to find stackable harness and loader...

Will be back for Dyno Day on March 5, perhaps a visit to ghetto is in order...

I thought this was supposed to be a 130HP box by one claim and 150 by another?

You must have gotten an old one or something...

Nice numbers, thanks for sharing. Looks like there is another stack for the track. Lotsa smoke you say, huh? Wonder if 2 stages of nitrous will clean it up?:ro)

mrmagu

I suspect we will know about stack with nitrous soon, depends on whether McRat can order a VA box and get delivered before I can install nitrous.....

Kennedy,
not sure what HP is advertised to be honest, all I know is it produced 110

No lack of fuel supply without lift pump? Just curious--it sounds like more air is what you're after. What are you planning on?

DuraDudz,

The current LLY van Aaken modules are 0-70-130HP levels, we have sent out a number of them and had excellent customer feedback on smoothness as well as the lack of smoke off of idle etc. Call us if you have any questions or just need a module etc.

Awesome numbers.. Guess I need some tranny upgrades now :D

mrmagu

Coyotekid,

Let's see, more air = turbo upgrade or nitrous
therefore more air = dollars or cents

think I'll start with cents as I don't have the right connections in the Great White North

Mark,

I stand corrected on HP, but will certainly agree on smoothness, my J/A is on the garage shelf for the immediate future.

Out of curiousity, did you make a run with just propane?

mrmagu
02-10-2005, 06:34 PM
Did not make propane only run, thought about it but ran out of time...perhaps next time

TTS Tow 311@3000 602@2550

Edge Juice 372@3000 687@2300, 741@ 2100 max before trans slipped

If I could get the graphs up here you would get a much more detailed comparison, because as usual, the numbers alone do not tell the entire story.

mrmagu,

No offense intended there, just been so many different numbers thrown about I wanted to clear it up for those that wanted to know. Those numbers are from van Aaken directly, they were here this week and we discussed the LLY at length!!!!!

Any more info on the Van Aaken LLY box? I would like to compare curves from dyno to other boxes/tunes.

Still waiting on something that's not pre-production. I don't think that the first release will stick, AND it does not look like they will be updated on the dealer level...

Here's what I can tell you about the VA, when you stack it, it makes crazy amounts of boost, and by crazy, I do not necessarily mean "good" crazy. You will hit 40PSI+ very easily, and nobody knows if that is a dangerous amount of boost yet.

If work slows down a bit, I will test an "adjustable" boost enhancer this week, the TS Activator.

While it might possible, I doubt it. While they are both harness boxes with a 3 position switch, the hardware is pretty different, and the VA is a much more "refined" package from a hardware standpoint. Most the "clones" are using the same hardware with different labeling.
