I have a 2004 2500 HD and had a 4" TrailMaster lift installed. The height is about right, as it's a daily driver. The thing I HATE about the lift is how far the wheels have been pushed out. Only an 18" wheel will fit. I'm running a 285-65-18, and it hangs out about 1 1/2" past the flares. This throws mud/street crap ALL over the truck (hood, roof, windshield, etc.). Are there any good 4" lifts that don't have these issues (I would like to get back to a 16" wheel due to the tire selection)

Thanks for your input !!

Pro Comp makes kits (IIRC all thier kits are like this) that maintain stock track width. That is a big factor for me as well. I am considering (trying to convince the wife) a 6" lift from pro comp for mine. Down here in Vegas I've only found pro comp at 4 wheel parts and accessories, so I don't know where you can find it in Colorado. Good luck.

Hey VagasTinMan and bar836, I have the ProComp lift. On for over a year.......its great. By the way, the 6" for the 2500HD 4x4's is a 7inch. They changed the ht. specs last year on the kit. ProComp keeps the factory specs, not like others (FabTech).

I am also looking for a 4 inch lift for my 04 2500 HD. I also do not like the increased track width of most the kits. There are 3 brands that have a 4 inch lift that I know of. Rancho (need new wheels +wider stance) trail master (dont remember much about it but did'nt like it) Tuff Country ( Least amount of track width increase 1/4 per side I think ,also can use stock wheels)

Rancho 1-734-384-7804 Tuff Country 1-800-288-2190 Has anyone had a Tuff Country lift before? New design cut amount of peices in half. I am going to use this truck for sled pulling as well as every day use around the farm. Thanks for the info!!!!

What about using a wider set of fenderflares like the ones bushwacker makes? It would probably be a little cheaper to go that route and you'd keep your wider track width which add's stability to the truck. Also you really can't use smaller than a 18" wheel? that seems kind of odd.

The problem with increasing track width is that it puts more stress on the steering components, wheel bearings, and cv joints, etc. Bodysurfer, can stcok wheels be used with the procomp kit? Due to budget I may not be able to do the kit, wheels and tires all at once. May do the kit and wait a month or two for the wheels/tires.

TinMan, of coarse you could use them. If you are going to get tires but not the rims yet, that will work/look better than stock rims/tires. But you have to do what you have to work with.

So, if I was you, I'ld get the lift and the tires now and save you $$ for the best rims you want. Dont down grade cuz you dont have enough $. That is kind of what I did. I knew I wanted to get Lift, Rims, Tires all at once and the exact type. Go chome.... polish allum sux!
