Is there any other way then asking the dealer when and at what point my Dually is at on the build line?

Not unless you know someone at the factory. The next best way is to find out who does the actual ordering at the dealership. Usually its the inventory manager. Talk to that person directly they are able to find out exactly where your truck is in the build process by entering the order # in the computer program they used to place your order. Hope this helps.

I ordered mine two weeks ago and today they gave me a build week of June 22

My original build date was 4/21. I ordered the truck 3/04. Called last week and it was moved to 4/24. Called today just to ask where it is and the new date is 5/10. Is this due to the strike at AAM. I have ordered other vehicle from this dealer/salesman. But just find this funny that it changes and no one has an answer. Thanks

The strike has pushed all new trucks back until the strike is over. No Parts no trucks!
I got fed up with the wait and had my dealer do a search. Found the truck I now have with more options and less money.

I read that as of april 14th the pick truck line will be running full time and that the van line was to be shut down, because they sell many mor pickups than vans.

I would just go to another dealer that has a dually. or look on ebay

Well went to the dealership today. Talked to my neighbor the Gm FINANCE GUY. The build date has been moved again from 4/24 to 5/19. He also then adds that date will probably change. Oh well ill wait. Im not the type to buy off the lots. All my work vans have been ordered custom and my 02' was also. So ill continue to drive the 93' s-10 til she will hopefully blows up...

Just got back from the dealer, I ordered mine 2 weeks ago today and the Targeted Production Week is 7/21/08. Bummer.

The really nice thing about ordering is that you get everything you want but don't have to pay for things you don't want. This is my 4th vehicle iv'e ordered.

Dealer called me today. He mentioned that the strike was close to over but not to expect to see the truck within a month or two. He is calling GM and having my order switched to an 09'. Since there was no VIN assigned there shouldnt be a problem. Figured i would mention this info for someone else going through this.
