FASTDMAX 02-09-2005, 10:00 PM does anybody know if a 03 chevy diesel 2wd allison will fit in to an 05 4wd diesel got to do some swaping want to make sure it could be done before i pull them apart. i know i have to swap over the transfercase and maybe the nose cone anything else anyone could think of thanks for the help dpower 02-09-2005, 10:07 PM Is it going into another dmax? Valve body is different as well as internal wiring harness in trans. They will work with or with out the solonoid, but I would try and avoid not having it there if possible Diesel Tech 02-09-2005, 11:13 PM Eric's right, you need to swap the valve body, internal wire harness, output shaft assemble. FASTDMAX 02-10-2005, 01:11 AM ok sounds good thanks for the input hercules130 02-10-2005, 01:35 AM i think the 2wd uses a 32 spline out put shaft and the 4wd uses a 29 spline shaft dmaxalliTech 02-10-2005, 11:24 AM 2wd uses a flange to accept the drive shaft that gets held in place with a bolt over the splines. 4wd uses a slip shaft into the t-case input. spline count is the least of your problems. Plus the rear housing is different to accept the t-case.
