Would I be safe to put a programmer (either Predator or PPE) on my 02 with 205k miles on it? It had the injectors replaced at 150k.

Programmers are always a "do at your own risk" modification. I dont think it would be the wisest decision to put on a hot high HP tune and expect everything to be hunky dory. But, I think youd be fine with the predator or some other mild tuner that doesnt add more that 60 hp or so.

Mainly looking for an economy tune to help mpg's.

I agree with jmg343 keep the tune mild and I wouldn't expect any major problems. Have you owned the truck since new or did you by it high mileage??

207,000 miles. Stealth2 at 135hp. No problems. You will need to upgrade your tranny with that many miles. Tranny then tuning.

I'm awaiting a tuner now for my 03. It has 242k. I plan to just run an economy/tow tune too. Nothing that will cause an issue I'd imagine. I'm never on the go pedal, but it does tow from time to time. I feel a light tune is better than the factory tune.

205k is just getting broke in you should have no probablem with 175 extra horses as long as your trans holds thats your week link. tune it up and have some fun with it

Tranny may be an issue just as many of these guys have already said. Check out the Xcellerator tuner from PPE. It's just their basic tuner and has 4 levels. I've got my 64k on level 2 (125hp) tune and have noticed awesome mileage inprovements. The power improvements have been great too. I haven't even put the level 4 tune on it for tranny saving. Just some food for thought.
