Does anyone know the exhaust diameter and the offset on the stock muffler on a 06' D-max van. I would like to delete it. The local muffler shop will not remove it to fit a delete pipe. But if I have the offset and the diameter of the pipe they will make one.

I trashed mine but I think it was 2.75 in tube. You can just measure it to be sure. For the offset get a piece of brake line and use it as a templet and bend it like the pipe under there.

I had a muffler delete pipe installed today. It has a nice sound to it. Sounds a little funny when the turbo "adjust" on start up. :)

I love that HISSS sound at idel. I wish the truck made that sound all the time.

There is not much of a whistle sound. It has a deeper rumble sound to it, but once the rpms come up you know it has a turbo. Also the way it would bog down after shifts is gone.

Joey didn't you use a MBRP p/u exhaust or did you have to bend everything custom ?

No bending at all. I had to shorten a couple of pipes but nothing hard to do. Hangers had to be adjusted as well.

Yeah, its 2.75".

Seriously, find another muffler shop, they sound pretty dumb and stupid if they can't remove a muffler and make up a new piece. I wouldn't want them touching any of my vehicles, :(

its not that they cant, its that they dont want to get in trouble for removing parts required by law.

Removing a muffler is illegal? If they are that concerned, I guess they don't do any muffler or exhaust work as that would be illegal?

I understand what he is saying. There is many muffler shops today that do things just like it came from the factory. They are just making sure nothing ever comes back to bite them in the ass.

Not trying to start a war here but since when is removing a muffler illegal? If you want to get down to the nitty gritty, ANY exhaust work is illegal if you follow my MVAct but that doesn't stop anyone and like I said, if a shop refuses to remove a muffler, then there either too picky or in trouble with the law already. I say move on and find another one, there can't be only one shop in town.

Maybe somebody got nailed for exhaust being to loud and they went back to the shop and blamed them. Who knows ? I am thinking the shop just does not want to have any issues with anybody. Call the muffler shop and ask them.

Maybe, who knows but I still say move on. I can see them saying that if he cut his cat out but muffler?
