remove the harness and tape the ends that are left

My plan is get some heat shrink tubing and cuttsome for the end and slide a heat shrink tubing over that and shrink with some heat. Electrical supply houses usually carry stuff large enough or possible hobby radio control toy stores

unplug the sensors, install the open wiring harness ends into small plastic parts type bags & seal with a tight zip tie. then zip them out of harms way, zipped end down if you can

Electrical tape and zip ties is what most people do. The shrink wrap idea is a great one as well.

haha no thts my i think people worry to much about taping up there sensors and not enough about proper programing answer :) I have ran over 34,000 miles through every type of weather and they look fine. not tht i plan on ever using them again ;) I thnk the only real way to keep them sealed up good if so desired is to get the actual weather pak plugs tht go in there. ive seen a few tht have taped them up and caused more damage by water and contiments being trapped in there. :)

This is my thoughts too Tommy. Just most just don't care because they will never put the DPF back on. I think the Weather pak connectors are the only answer that is safe and easy, besides not removing them in the first place because that would be illegal:p:.

For Mine I Went To Checker And Got Some Heat Shrink Electrical Tape. The Reason I Like This Stuff Is Because You Can Wrap It Up As High On The Wires As You Would Like And Once You Shrink It Down It Forms A Water Proof Cover. Its Easy To Use And Inexpensive.

What about just cutting them off and 3m makes a good underground splice kit that will keep out any water.

I took and cut two pieces of hose about three inches long. I slipped one end onto the nut that holds the sensor in the exhaust and used a hose clamp to snug it. On the other end I used a barbed plug to seal the other end. Everything is sealed and water tight.

I used dielectric grease and wrapped them in plastic.

Are you guys leaving the sensor there or your referring to just the connector? B/C i just disconnected the sensor and left it on the dpf when i removed the whole exhasut, so basiclly its just the connector at its original spot and the two small hoses are tie wrapped near the other sensor in the middle of the truck.

I packed mine in diaelectric grease and taped them up and zipp tyed them away, but as many have said I dont really ever plan on using them again and I wouldnt be surprised if I were to use them per se in five years if they were corroded and unusable...thats a problem that can be dealt with when the time comes I guess, however if you flip trucks often or plan to do the dpf back on game when you bring the truck into the dealer you may want to try the weather pack connectors...Josh
