: Clicking form the front wheels

I was driving my wife’s Burb last night, and I noticed that if the front wheels were turned all the way to either side, and I drove slowly I could here a clicking sound coming from seemed like the hubs. Can this be anything other than a bad CV joints? Can hydraulic hubs make this sound if they are bad. The reason I ask is because I also noticed that the hydraulic hubs leak when they are first engaged. Thanks for your help.

K2500?
Those cv joints click when bad, they always turn with the wheels.

Calipers?

My K2500 make all kinds of noise when turning sharp. It sounds like a high ping or click. Traced it to the non-OEM pads moving around in the caliper. Curiously, the right side does not make this noise.

cv's do go bad but before you buy replacements jack the front of the truck up at the front cross frame. check both sides for play in the upper and lower ball joints buy pushing and pulling on the tops and bottoms of the wheels. this past summer i thought i was in for a cv change but upon further inspection found the upper ball joints had a lot of play. replaced them with Moog parts and no noise since. my steering is much more resposive now also.
oh yeah, what are hydraulic hubs?

I'm on my second set of moog parts on the frontend, lifetime
warranty only if you keep the receipt.

Thanks for the input guys. I can already tell you with out checking that the upper ball joints are worn. I remember seeing that last time I was under the truck, but I had no idea they could cause that noise?

One easy check to do that might be your noise is grab your steering shaft inside the engine bay and give it a shake! I have had a poping clicking noise coming from my truck and I have replaced every ball joint and wheel bearing I could find! (even idle and pitman arms!) Finally I was changing glow plugs and pushed against the shaft and it moved!!! So I went to GM and payed the nice man at the counter 130.00 for a new one and it stopped my prob! :ro)

Lupey already asked. What are hydraulic hubs? And what did you say was leaking and from where? These trucks have no hubs, they have sealed bearing assembly's which is what the lugs are pressed into, and the half shaft goes through the middle and that's the 36mm nut in the center of the wheel. If you had lost a cv boot the grease would have been slung all over the wheel well. The reason I ask is the only part in that area that can leak a fluid is the caliper and if your losing brake fluid that would be dangerous. Another possibility of the leak source could be the hydro-boost (brake assist) leaking and running down over the driverside frame and possibly suspension parts. I recently rebuilt mine to stop the leaking.
