i have weld velocity xt 20x10 with bfg allterrains 285 55 r20 i like them they were expensive but i think they were well worth it. the weld racing wheels (XT) series have a 5 year chrome warranty. i thougt that was cool.

I second that stepuptata. I think I'm going to run some 20's next matched to 35" to 37" BFG's if they make them. I love the look. There's a rig on the owners rides sticky you may like to see: ;) http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170&page=128&pp=10

I run the 22" Weld Velocity 8s with 37-13.50 Toyos and love them! If someone will post the pic I will send it to them, it tells me the pic is to big!

i was looking on those welds and i didn't like the big offset they had. i assume you have a lift how do you make that offset work.

Thats too big of a rim....unless you like that "All rim, small tire" look. Makes the truck look like its running on rims. Personally I like a more balanced look. Say, 315's on a 16 maybe 17 rim. See my set up on the link in my signature.

Its a truck.....meaty looking tires on nice rims. Its not a slammed getto truck.

Yea im not a huge fan of 20's unless you got a big piece of meat around it, my brother has 38" toyos on 20x10 weld daggers and I still think it makes the tires look tiny. Although he hasn't busted a rim, I run 39.5x15 r16 on 16x10 welds and just had my 4th rim crack!!!

All depends on personal preference really, some like bigger some like smaller, Both have their pros and cons for functionality.

37" tires on 15 or 16 rims? looks like a big monster donut with a tiny center. And also too much sway/lean for driving fast/cornering.

30" tires on 22 or 24" rims give the rubberband look, too small so it doesnt corner as well, rougher ride, damages the rim alot easier, and is definately the most expensive scenario.

My preference is a more balanced tire, 7-8 inches of sidewall for faster driving/better cornering and light offroading. Hopefully by summer I shall be on 37's and 20's

Just my opinion.. :)

Just my opinion.. :)37's on 20's are just about perfect to me.:D I had 37's and decided to drop down to 35's though and can't believe how much better they ride and how much faster and more efficient the truck is. If I can get a hold of 35's wrapped arround chrome 20's I'll be set!!!:driver:

I have to agree with cid an Burnin Mad Max. 20" wheels are perfect on a 35". I can only fit up to a 33"( I only have 2" keys). I'm thjinking a 20" wheel may be to big, I may step it down to a 18", but I love 20's. I nned some pics of others set up with both sizes to make my final decision. I don't care about the price differance.:help:

I used to run 22" Weld Velocity 8s on my Suburban. They were wrapped with 305/40/22 Nitto tires. The truck rode great! I'm thinking about putting the same combo on my '05 Sierra HD and have been trying to find out if they will fit without having to lift the truck. I had planned on going with 37s on 17" Renegade XT wheels and a 9" lift but I'll be doing alot of towing so I don't think that will be a good idea.

This is how the Suburban looked with those wheels -

I want to use them on -

What do you guys think?

Just ordered the 22" Velocity 8 wheels and wrapped them with 305/45/22 Nitto 404 tires :) So that means my Cognito lift and 17" Renegade XT wheels are for sale. Everything is still new in the boxes.

The kit is a 7-9" Cognito with dual shock hoops, Fox shocks all around and 7" Deaver springs. I'm selling that complete for $3890. I'm selling the four 17" Renegade XT wheels for $1595.

Here's how I'm setup: 20" Devino rim wrapped in a 305/55 (33")Nitto TerraGrappler. I have no complaints with this setup...
I like the look, but like someone said, it's all personal preferance!

I personally went with 17's. I had a height ceiling to stay under and had more choices in tires. When I get tired of these I'll probably step up to 20's.):h

BenI've been meaning to ask you how those 285's fit? I'm assuming there the 285/65/18? I have a set of Eagle wheels right now with Nitto 325/60/18's and they rub a little too much for my tastes. I'm thinking that with the 285's being almost 1.5" less wide I might be allright.

BTW, wheels & tires :ro)

Thanks

NO RUb at all! Before I had 315s and they did rub some. These are great!
