: OK, everybody sing along “I Limped it. I Limped it…”
WanaDmxsub 02-08-2005, 11:36 PM Cruise was set at 60. Went to pass a car on a slight grade, rolled into it gently (GF and 4 year old in truck). Just before the 5-4 down shift “LIMP”. This was with the Predator set to the 85 tune.
5k in 120, limp.
10+k in 85 tune, limp.
20+ k ? in the 65 tune? Hope I don’t have to go that long.
Man, and I thought I was puttin' around in the 85 tune.
I’m going to wait and see how the DTT and the TTS trannies stack up before I upgrade. Looks to be a long (SLOW) summer.

I found a new place to dwell

Called the DeadAlly Hotel...
I slipped it so badly baby
I slipped it so badly
I slipped it so badly that it's fried.
Around 90 hp is it. As great as the Allison is, it doesn't handle a whole lot more than it was set up to handle. Fortunately it rarely outright breaks.

RyanU 02-09-2005, 03:16 AM if you're wanting something now or soon...check into the ats stage 2 or 3 kits. they are very stout and the adjustability of the co-pilot is great. its amazing how quick it shifts. but its well worth the money....JMO
Max Payne 02-09-2005, 10:18 AM It doesn't sound like you limped it, it sounds like you set the P1093 code. Were you limited to 2000 RPM? Did you get sttuck in third gear? Hard to believe you limped it on a downshift. The P1093 usually happens as soon as you lift after a moderate to heavy accel.

WanaDmxsub 02-10-2005, 12:32 AM RyanU,
Nothin' against ATS, but from what I have read, my choice, would be the Suncoast III. But since DTT has come out and TTS should be soon, I'll wait (tap, tap, tap, tap) and see what we learn here in the next couple of months. I might get the SCIII or something differant.
Max Payne,
P1093, wasn't that one (looked it up just to make sure). P0700, Since the predator doesn't read TCM codes I can't check/clear. This isn't the first time (it's the second). I have a good idea what codes are set. Stuck in 3rd. Drove a mile or so and had to stop for a flagman. Shut it down and restarted all was well, except that I had to drive like an old lady until I had time to load the 65 tune. SES light went out today. Both times I limped it was during a down shift. You fell the truck (No I can't explain it) about to down shift and (gasp) your stuck in 3rd, at a HIGH rpm (was only doing 60 this time last time I was 70)
Live and learn...I new the 120 would not last but thought that I would be OK after just one limp if I stuck with the 85...wrong...I sure the H2's played a part in this also.

RyanU 02-10-2005, 12:40 AM Well I like the adjustability that I get along with it. Of course Ill be using the truck a lot for competition. Sled pulling mostly so i wanted something stout that I could go between setting from when pulling, racing, or driving everyday.

If I was going to be Pullin' or Racing alot/seriously the ATS is the way to go.
CYCLONE 02-10-2005, 09:31 PM I Can Help You With A Bully Dog Tranny A Few Of The Guys On Here Are Running One Maybe They Will Tune In And Let You Know What They Think
WanaDmxsub 02-11-2005, 12:51 AM Sorry, forgot about the Bull Dog. I'm always willing to listen/read. But I will have to admit that the reviews I'm waiting for will come from the TTS tranni's.
96dragshee 02-11-2005, 09:03 PM Will the SES light go out on its own or do I have to use a scanner.
McRat 02-11-2005, 09:19 PM Try unplugging the batteries for 20 minutes. Many codes are erased when you do that.
WanaDmxsub 02-12-2005, 12:24 AM The codes will stay for (I think) something like 100 cycles. SES will go out after 3 cycles. For me the SES goes out sometime the following day.
Or you can do as McRat says. Both work.
OR we could all meet at MikeL's and have a Tranni party.
Gray Gmax 02-12-2005, 12:29 AM I limped it!!!:ro)
you guys will like this... a hibread car pulls out in front of me on the two lane just before it goes to four ... of course no one behind me. so i have to slowdown to 35.
so i pull up next to her and i try to pull a mackin. turn it up to 5x5 and lug her down and easy in to it to get to most smoke i can. tc never unlocked and vrrroooomm out of gear and ses.
damn hibread passed me as i pulled over to cycle the ignition.-:t
cycled the ignition more that three times...... still there. took about five or six times for it to go out.
i really want ats hibread tranny.... but the tranny fund went from 3500 to zero with the new addition to the family. she is due in may.
now not just one pecker to worry about:help:
OR we could all meet at MikeL's and have a Tranni party.
Just check your fuses before you leave ;)
:joke: I just talked to Mike today he did an :hail: Awesome job on McRats truck. He going to see if he find someone to work on my Vettes Trans. For some reason when I asked to talk to FuseGrips who knew exactly who I was:muahaha:
