Guy is asking $3500.. I can probably get it for $3,000.

It has been used for work but looks good for a 92.. According to what I've been told.

Any opinions? I'd like to tinker with it and get some horsepower out of it, I think it'd be a good beater truck and something to work on.

My Dad has one and it is far from a slug. With a few simple modes it will wake it up. Go for it you won't be sorry

Then why did he mode it? ;)

Buy a hard worked Dodge and tweak it so it isn't a stock slug and you will be where in no time? :o:

If your just getting it to tinker with and do a little work with it is a good deal. You can't beat the mileage. You oughta have that frontend looked at though. I had a 92 single cab dually that had had front end work before it began to go out on me again. I own a 3/4 ton that i have had $900 dollars worth of frontend work done on. That tranny could also give you some probs with that many miles on it if it has had some heavy haulin done with it. I would definitely take it by a mechanic to have it checked out first. As far as the engine you can't hurt it. It may no be the fastest but is definitely the most dependable. For a while you couldn't find any of these trucks on the market because no one wanted to sell them. They just bought newer models and designated their older ones work trucks.

Had one just like it, sold it to a guy who delivers campers. He still owns it with over 350,000 miles. He said it's starting to use a little oil but runs fine. He has replaced the manual transmission. Won't pull like the new ones but handles itself well.

A good used engin alone is worth $3000. Sound like a good buy, but I never thought much of the old body style dodges.
