I am thinking about taking my body side mouldings off. I think it would look good all white. Has anyone done this before what did you use to take them off? Any pics?
Thanks again

It would look good depending on what add ons you want to put on. I think most people keep them on. Lot of people that show their vehicle may remove them to get that clean sleek look.

Mine from the factory were painted to match the truck, so I'm leaving them on for parking lot protection. However, if they were black (like some I've seen), then I'd likely pull them. They are too wide if not painted to match...

Had the dealer take mine off before delivery. Looks much cleaner IMO.Also had the 4x4 stickers taken off. There is a pic of my truck on let see what your ride looks like, I think it is on page 115 116, some where in that area. Green one. If you want to take them off yourself a hair dryer and some fishing line work great.

2500HD04, or anyone else do you have any pics? And how did you use the fishing line.

I would assume the finishing line is basically fishing string you run along the back out the moulding. Right? I've seen it done before and works real smooth. they come right off.

You can take fishing line (I use dental floss) and run it down the back of the moulding and it "cuts" the moulding away from the two sided 3M tape they use. They you can heat up the tape with a hair dryer/heat gun and roll off the tape residue or use a little GooGone or WD40.

HeavychevyHD ...

Take them off !!! They are hiding the truck's nice body lines

I just got my 04 black hd EC back from the shop . while in there . I had them remove the door trim , All the badging except the LT on the cab . ..
And that big ol ugly 4x4 decal ....My truck looks tons better . The body lines look sweet !!!
I did leave the black fender trim on and fact mud flaps ...

I also had them paint the front lower airdam black (didn't like the gray) to match the truck ...Its a matt black not gloss ...Makes the front look taller !

I will have my son snap some digital pics of it and try to get them posted by friday evenng after work ...

Hey guys ,

I didn't get a chance to take some pic's before dark ...I stopped and had the H2 chrome wheels and new 265/70/17 tires put on this afternoon . Took them longer than I thought to install . and ....No clearence issues . They were a nice fit.
I will try again tommorrow ....

By the way , anybody in the seattle area that might be looking for H2 wheel /tire take offs for there trucks ...
DOUGS LYNNWOOD HUMMER IN EDMONDS , HAS SEVERAL SETS OF CHROME H2 WHEELS AND TIRES FOR SALE ....
Chrome wheels only 600.00 a set and wheel/tire 1200.00 , they all looked brand new ...Also the none chrome too, but I don't no how much ..All total , I saw 7-9 sets

P.S I didn't have to trim the little tabs on the GM center caps to get them to fit the H2's like some of the folks had stated on previous posts .... Why is that ??? Did something change on the newer model year wheels ????

later ...Kevin

You will love the look. Much cleaner. No probelms with "dings" from other vehicles, yet. Here is a pic of my summit white. The dealer pulled mine off on day of delivery.
