Looking for some mounts for the bed, either behind the cab or even in the box. Anyone know of someone who makes them??

there is a company that makes it so you can use your am/fm radio ant as your cb also

I would recommend against trying one of the AM/FM antenna adapters.

You could however go the other way, and use a good cb antenna for am/fm....

On my 01 Dmax that I used to drive, I went to the local Radio Shack and got me this bracket....

I mounted on the bed of the truck. Instead of getting the 2-foot antennas, I went to a local truck stop and got me the 4-foot "whips".
Hope this helps you guys.

I mounted them to the bed by the rear window towards the corner.
Installation note: The bracket that I got from Radio Shack (see picture above), I flipped it so that I get more clearence between the antenna and the "lip" of the bed. I wanted to have the antenna's straight up and down. If you install them the way it is shown on the above picture, then your antenna's are going to have a slight anlge on them. Maybe I will try to sketch something in pro/e and post it here.

The above pic shows how it mounted mine. I flipped the bracket around so that the 2 round surfaces will "mate" together and instead of having the one on the other side of the bed towards the cab, I put it towards the rear of the bed as shown on the sketch. Then, I used couple of screws and nuts with washers and tight the bracket down. That is the only way you will get enough clerance with that bracket so that the antenna is NOT going to interfere with the bed lip. Good luck!

Here is another sketch that explains and shows how the antennas would look like if you install one of the brackets on the other side of the bed. I personally like the antennas to be vertical not angled.

Another option that I used. MA a supporting vendor here sells a mount that attaches to the hood hinge bolts on the left side of the truck and places the cb antenna in the same area as the stock radio antenna on the right side.

If you have access to a welder and are capable of making your own I have a copy of a set plans for a bracket similar to the ma mount that someone else on this board was kind enough to send to me,I can email them to you if you want. I wound up making my own out of angle iron from these plans and also one for my buddy as well. Nice neat setup that hides well when you unscrew the antenna when not in use.

i used the same bracket as posted above. but i did not want to drill holes so i just used it as a clamp. just put the two bottom bolt in and slide it on the bed rail and tighten the bolts. had it this way on my s-10 for 3years and a year in the 3500.

x2 - I used the MA antenna mount, and I love it. I added a push-down quick release antenna mount, along with a 3' K40 top-loaded fiberglass antenna... pics in the garage. I really like it. It does take a little work to cut a hole to make it look like stock, but well worth it. That way, you can put a bed cover on the truck and not interfere with the antenna.
